A very special thank you to all the fabulous shoppers who braved the chilly conditions and came to the Christmas Late Night Shopping event on Burford High Street.
The prosecco and mulled cider flowed, our gorgeous carollers sang and we loved chatting books and see so many familiar faces as well as those who were visiting Madhatters Book Bar for the first time!
Hearty congratulations to our two raffle winners, each took home a hamper packed with beautiful goodies from the independent shops on our glorious High Street!
Something I hear often in the bookshop is "only a card today" but I cannot emphasise enough that each time you buy a card or even a postcard - this helps us to keep our doors open!
Since taking over the Madhatter Bookshop in February 2020 I must say that 2022 has been the toughest of times for the bookshop and many of my fellow retailers in Beautiful Burford so please do keep doing what you are doing because your support, even when it's "only a card" is making a difference, it is helping to keep our High Street alive, vibrant and independent.
