Share The Literary Love

It's 6.45am and I have been awake since 3.55am for no other reason than I have Brain Buzz. You know what I am talking about, those times when you really want to sleep but your brain keeps tapping you on the shoulder and reminding you of that to-do list! So after a couple of hours of fighting with myself I have given in, made myself a cup of camomile tea and opened my lap top.

Organising a Lit Fest is actually quite a big adventure. Don't get me wrong, it is an adventure I am thoroughly enjoying and very excited about but there is one thing I am struggling with and that is sharing the literary love. One of the reasons behind starting the lit fest was to bring authors to as wide an audience as possible, hence we made the children's events free and the majority of our author events £5 a ticket - accessibility may be a buzz-word but it's a buzz that we want to embrace wholeheartedly.

So my bookish friends please can I ask you to share the literary love far and wide, tell your friends, talk with your colleagues, share far and wide and I just know we will have such a wonderful time talking books in beautiful Burford.

Who knew back in January that so many of our authors would be winning literary prizes and nominated in categories including The Booker Prize, The Wainright and The Women's Prize for Fiction.

Oh look, the sun is shining and it's time for breakfast!

PS For those of you who prefer to see schedules in black and white we are hoping to have our full programme in print at the bookshop by the end of next week - if I get out of my bed and proof read it now!
