Rather than purchase WBD Books this year I decided to donate a voucher to two local primary schools and yesterday Mrs Tipple and ten children from Southrop Primary School came to the bookshop to spend their voucher by choosing books for their school library.
We looked for monsters in the cellar, enjoyed browsing the shelves and talked about why £8 for a book is actually jolly good value when you think about how long it takes the author to write the story then the printing costs and delivery to the bookshops.
It was an absolute joy to have the Madhatter Bookshop bursting with young voices all talking about books! Thank you to Mrs Tipple for the lovely photos and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Happy Reading!
