On the Literary Fringe Flourishes!

Hot on the heels of harpist Lucy Nolan and poet Chris Tutton, also known as Imaginary Landscapes, last night the bookshop was packed out and sold out as Paul Miller bought Burford Comedy Club to the bookshop. A splendid evening was had by all and it was wonderful to hear the bookshop filled with laughter!
Further proof that bookshops do not simply occupy another retail space on our High Streets but facilitate the bringing together of the community.
Whilst the Burford Literary Festival opens tomorrow, On the Literary Fringe continues to flourish with three further events in October.
9th October at Madhatter Bookshop
An Evening With Quintin Lake - award winning and National Geographic Photographer Quintin Lake will be talking about his book, Perimeter - we have a small number of tickets left.
19th October 1pm at Madhatter Bookshop
Bring Your Dog to the Bookshop to meet author and illustrator Hariet Lowther who will be signing her beautiful book - Tell your Dog I Love Them - and sketching your dog! You dont need a ticket for this event but we expect it to be busy so you can pre-order your copy of the book here, it will be waiting for you at The Madhatter Bookshop, ready to be signed! An Evening with author and son of legendary author Dick Francis, Felix Francis will be joining us to talk about his brand new book, DARK HORSE. We are delighted to welcome Felix back to Burford.
