Burford Literary Festival opened last night with a talk from renowned artist, Francis Hamel. Art was discussed, wine was drunk and a good time was had by all at the old Baptist Chapel in Burford.
Today we have a wonderful programme of authors starting with Economist and UN advisor Linda Yueh, Gill Hornby, author of Miss Austen, Kathy Slack, food writer, kitchen gardener and author of Rough Patch, wordsmith and author Susie Dent, she of Countdown and 8 out of 10 Cats and of course our Secret Garden Party.
