The Booker Long List is OUT!
Over the past few years as soon as the long list is released I can always pick a favourite and in some years, the book that goes on to be the winner but this year, with so many wonderful authors, I am struggling to make my selection!
There are four titles that instantly jump put for me:
Oh William by Elizabeth Strout
Treacle Walker by Alan Garner
Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan
and
Maps of Our Spectacular Bodies by Maddie Mortimer
I simply cannot force myself to pick a favourite on readability and merit so I am going to go with Treacle Walker by Alan Garner, partly because he wrote one of my favourite childhood books, The Weirdstone of Brisingamen. Teacle Walker also has one of my favourite places to walk on it's cover, The Uffington White Horse.
With so many wonderful writers I feel this is as good a way as any to select a favourite! Do you have a favourite?
